2008 Artists In the Gardens

We're proud to present to you this year's artists.

Pat Laney

Painting

Pat Laney, a native Kentuckian, was trained at Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, Florida. There, she learned to love the hot climate, flower and fauna of that rich subtropical climate. After working as a commercial artist at ad agencies in Nashville and Atlanta, she returned to painting and has been working exclusively in watercolors for the past 25 years. You could call some of her paintings escapist art, for there are windows, mirrors, and doors that show a way to a world she would like to see – an escape hatch. Gardens are one of those windows.

Greta Mattingly

Painting

Born in Pennsylvania, Greta’s love of watercolors started at an early age as she watched her mother work with the medium. Her mother taught her to see beautiful color and composition in even the most ordinary of subjects. In 2005, one of Greta’s paintings was featured on the cover of Atlanta Home Improvement Magazine. Greta is a graduate of West Chester University and currently lives and works from her home studio in Avondale Estates.
